Integration overview

Introduction

Agoda is one of the world’s fastest growing online travel booking platforms. From its beginnings as an e-commerce start-up based in Singapore in 2005, Agoda has grown to offer a global network of 2 million properties in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. It provides travellers with easy access to a wide choice of luxury and budget hotels, apartments, homes, and villas to suit all budgets and travel occasions.

Integration model

Agoda is the next Sales Channel (SC) that has been successfully integrated with Rentals United. Property Managers (PMs) can now connect to Agoda and start advertising their properties through this channel.

  • All actions are initiated by Rentals United.

  • Property descriptive content as well as availability and prices are sent to Agoda upon initial connection.

  • Since 2023-02-22, new clients can turn automatic updates on and have the property descriptive content sent to Agoda automatically - see details at Automatic listing content update

  • When property descriptive content is updated in Rentals United, the property needs to be re-pushed. For more information, please see Updating listings.

  • When availability and pricing data is changed in Rentals United, Agoda is immediately updated. The maximum time when the channel receives an update is 5 minutes.

  • Reservations, modifications and cancellations are retrieved from Agoda.

  • Extra reservations existing in Agoda can be copied to Rentals United - Importing bookings.

Categorization

Agoda specialises in selling inventory en masse. In this system, guests can choose a specific room type from the available inventory , for example a double room in a hotel.

  • Rentals United hotel or group refers to the room type, e.g. Queen Apartment or Two-Bedroom Apartment and is synchronized as multi-unit. A multi-unit refers to a set of indistinguishable properties. These properties work the same way the regular properties do; however, they represent a number of properties with the same specification at the same address. An example of a multi-unit property is a set of identical hotel rooms.

  • Rentals United property refers to a physical room of a certain type, e.g. Property 1 and Property 3 are categorized as Two-Bedroom Apartment.

  • Rentals United rate refers to a particular pricing plan, which is created based on particular settings in your property. You can see your rates after selecting the Agoda Property Settings page in the Services tab.

    Important: Any additional rates created in Agoda must be mapped in Rentals United. Otherwise you risk your new rates will get out-of-date and result in overbookings.

Contract details

New clients: Agoda does not currently accept new clients.

Onboarding time: Up to 4 weeks.

Commission: Agoda sets all properties to the Reference Sell Rate model. It means Agoda subtracts the commission on their end from the prices received from Rentals United and remits the difference to you. You need to mark up your prices in Rentals United to cover for the commission. Note that the commission amount depends on your contract with Agoda.

Payment processAgoda creates a virtual credit card available at the time of booking, which will be stored in Rentals United for 10 days. Please, note down the CC details, so that you are able to charge it. The full reservation price can be charged on the day of the client's departure and for 2 months after that.

Length of stay: The maximum length of stay Agoda supports is 90 nights.

Hotel ID: It can be found in the top right corner in the Agoda dashboard.
